How to schedule a Vermont road test
Short version: Vermont exams are appointment-only. Charm does not unlock walk-ins.
Book the appointment
- Online: mydmv.vermont.gov
- Phone: 888-970-0357
Confirm current instructions on dmv.vermont.gov before you book. Print or save the confirmation.
Before you schedule
- Meet eligibility for the exam you want (permit path vs junior/road test path).
- Have required practice hours / driver ed documentation ready if your path needs them.
- Know which vehicle you’ll use and that it is legal and safe for the test.
Test-day basics
- Arrive early with ID, appointment confirmation, and required paperwork.
- Reschedule through official channels — do not ghost the slot.
- Verify wait rules (knowledge retakes and road-test waits differ) on the DMV site.
